rachel smith..all about me

about me.......... I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on February 11th, 2005, 6 days before my 4th birthday. It was a bit of a shock for everybody, but I didn't really know what all the fuss was about. I still don't, really, although I know I am still having medicine every day. I also have a Hickman line so that the nurse can take blood every Tuesday (she comes to school), and I get medicine put into it too, although not as often as it used to be. I even get my sleepy medicine through my line!

I have a sister called Isla, and she always looks after me. She is the best sister in the whole world. I had my 4th birthday in hospital, and I had my 5th birthday in hospital too! But I have just had my 6th birthday, and I was NOT in hospital YIPPEEE! And hopefully on my 7th birthday, I might not have leukaemia any more. Which is weird, because I can't remember not having leukaemia.
